      • March 6, 2016, Papadopoulos, living in London, learned he would be Foreign Policy Advisor for the Trump Campaign during a conversation with Campaign Supervisor Sam Clovis, who relayed that a principal Campaign focus was an improved relationship with Russia.

“When Trump named Papadopoulos to his foreign policy advisory team the fact emerged that a central element of his short career had involved active public lobbying for energy cooperation between Israel, Greece and Cyprus, after significant natural gas resources were discovered in Israel. Papadopoulos wrote Op-Ed pieces in Israeli news outlets – including one in Haaretz – arguing that the Israel should cooperate with Greece and Cyprus in its development of the Tamar and Leviathan gas fields and avoid excessive cooperation with Turkey. He was particularly forceful in an article he wrote for the rightist outlet Arutz Sheva in 2014.A proposal to build a pipeline to Turkey in order to export gas to Europe, he said “is bereft of the political realities in the region and does not take into account the potentially devastating impact this option can have on Israel’s strategic relations with EU member Cyprus, and by extension, all of Europe” and that “regional economic cooperation between Israel and Cyprus should be the guiding principle that anchors Israel economically to Europe.” The Washington Post piece on Papadopulos quoted Elizabeth Rosenberg, an energy expert at the Center for a New American Security noting that the young Trump adviser that “has argued for Israeli gas moving to Europe. If that eventually comes to pass it will compete with U.S. gas to Europe. The United States and Israel are allies, but whose team is he on?”” Haaertz October 30, 2017

From the Sentencing Memorandum:In several recent media appearances, the defendant’s spouse has claimed that the defendant “voluntarily reported” to the FBI the Professor’s conversation with him about the “dirt” on Clinton. See CNN, Papadopoulos’ Wife Asks Trump to Pardon Him, Says He’s ‘Loyal to the Truth,’ June 6, 2018 (claiming at approximately 4:08 that the defendant “actually volunteered – he reported to the FBI about this meeting”); Fox News, Rethinking ‘Collusion’ and the George Papadopoulos Case, June 4, 2018, (claiming at approximately 2:11 that the defendant “voluntarily reported to the FBI at the time of their interview”); Chuck Ross, Papadopoulos’ Wife: Trump Aide Was ‘Absolutely Not’ Involved in Russian Collusion, June 4, 2018, available at http://dailycaller.com/2018/06/04/mangiante-papadopoulos-collusion/ (stating that it was the “defendant who brought up” the matter).

To the contrary, the defendant identified the Professor only after being prompted by a series of specific questions about when the defendant first learned about Russia’s disclosure of information related to the campaign and whether the defendant had ever “received any information or anything like that from a [] Russian government official.” In response, while denying he received any information from a Russian government official, the defendant identified the Professor by name – while also falsely claiming he interacted with the Professor “before I was with Trump though.” Over the next several minutes in the interview, the defendant repeatedly and falsely claimed that his interactions with the Professor occurred before he was working for the Trump campaign, and he did not mention his discussion with the Professor about the Russians possessing “dirt” on Clinton. That fact only came up after additional specific questioning from the agents. The agents asked the defendant: “going back to the WikiLeaks and maybe the Russian hacking and all that, were you ever made aware that the Russians had intent to disclose information [] ahead of time? So before it became public? Did anyone ever tell you that the Russian government plans to release some information[,] like tell the Trump team ahead of time[,] that that was going to happen?” The defendant responded, “No.” The agents then skeptically asked, “No?” The defendant responded: “No, not on, no not the Trump [campaign], but I will tell you something and – and this is . . . actually very good that we’re, that you just brought this up because I wasn’t working with Trump at the time[.] I was working in London . . . with that guy [the Professor].” Only then, after acknowledging that the agents had “brought this up” and lying about when he received the information, did the defendant admit that the Professor had told him “the Russians had emails of Clinton.”

“During a night of heavy drinking at an upscale London bar in May 2016, George Papadopoulos, a young foreign policy adviser to the Trump campaign, made a startling revelation to Australia’s top diplomat in Britain: Russia had political dirt on Hillary Clinton.

About three weeks earlier, Mr. Papadopoulos had been told that Moscow had thousands of emails that would embarrass Mrs. Clinton, apparently stolen in an effort to try to damage her campaign.

Exactly how much Mr. Papadopoulos said that night at the Kensington Wine Rooms with the Australian, Alexander Downer, is unclear. But two months later, when leaked Democratic emails began appearing online, Australian officials passed the information about Mr. Papadopoulos to their American counterparts, according to four current and former American and foreign officials with direct knowledge of the Australians’ role.”

“[Mifsud] did not exhibit any special interest or expertise in Russia until 2014, when his academy was beginning to stumble financially. It was at that time a 24-year-old Russian intern, Natalia Kutepova-Jamrom, turned up in his office with an improbably impressive résumé.

Fluent in Russian, English, German and Chinese, Ms. Kutepova-Jamrom had worked in the Russian government as a legislative aide and would move on to a Russian state newspaper. Both Mr. Mifsud’s lawyer and Ms. Kutepova-Jamrom declined to comment. Mr. Mifsud did not respond to messages.

Ms. Kutepova-Jamrom introduced Mr. Mifsud to senior Russian officials, diplomats and scholars. Despite Mr. Mifsud’s lack of qualifications, she managed to arrange an invitation for him to join the prestigious Valdai Discussion Club, an elite gathering of Western and Russian academics that meets each year with Mr. Putin.

Mr. Mifsud’s inclusion in the group was “very, very strange,” said James Sherr, the former head of the Russian studies program at Chatham House in London and a member of Valdai for nearly a decade. It “might suggest he does have connections,” Mr. Sherr said.

Simona Mangiante, George Papadopoulos’s Wife

Simona Mangiante, the girlfriend of ex-Trump campaign aide George Papadopoulos, also worked for a mysterious Russia-linked Maltese professor. No wonder Robert Mueller’s investigation came knocking   Long before Mifsud and Papadopoulos ever met, it was Mangiante who was introduced to the mystery professor while she was working in Brussels, in the European parliament, as an attorney specialising in child abduction cases.

She was introduced to Mifsud in about 2012 by Gianni Pittella, a well-known Italian MEP who in 2014 became president of the Socialists and Progressive Democrats group. “I always saw Mifsud with Pittella,” she says. Pittella had no comment.

Mangiante worked for two high-powered European parliament officials, Mairead McGuinness – a vice-president – and McGuinness’s Italian predecessor Roberta Angelilli. She was also an administrator to the home affairs committee under the presidency of Martin Schulz, then a German MEP and now the leader of Germany’s Social Democrats.

When her contract expired, Pittella suggested she go to work for Mifsud in London, a city she loved. The professor offered her a job in 2016 at the important-sounding London Centre of International Law Practice. She was recruited, she now thinks, because of her extensive Brussels “contacts book”.” The Guardian

Simona Mangiante.Pete Evans explained her significance on Twitter October 18, 2018:

“Many wondered why a guy as young as Papadopoulos became so important in the Trump Campaign. Lets look again at all the dots, starting with Simona Mangiante. Mangiante began working for some very senior members of the EU Parliament in 2009. These MEP politicians were ; Mairead McGuiness, Roberta Angelilli, & Martin Schulz. In 2012 Simona was introduced to Mifsud by another EU Parliamentary member, Gianni Pittella. He has a history.

Gianni Pittella, a member of the EU Parliament, & the guy who, in 2012, introduced Mangiante to Joe Mifsud, was in July of 2016, campaigning for Hillary in the US. He even attended the Convention. But all is not what it seems with Gianni. Pittella, while outwardly a strong defender of Europe, has given the game away for his sympathy for Ru “Russia is & always will be a key player on the world scale, especially in the fight against terrorism in the Middle East,……; We therefore have to keep an open dialogue”

Gianni Pittella: The choice on further sanctions in Russia is fully in Putin’s hands Socialists & Democrats EU January 31, 2015
Pittella’s viewpoint regarding Russia is very much the same as Trump’s & the other TreasonWeasles ; “Europe has to reopen dialogue with Russia & speak with a single voice, without isolating Moscow..; EU must try to find new common ground with Moscow to tackle the new threats” Gianni Pittella: “Let’s break down the new walls between the EU and Russia” Socialists & Democrats EU. October 11, 2014

Now lets look at some of the other dots. Simona Mangiante worked for members of the EU parliament from 2009 through to 2016. She then worked for Mifsud from Sept to Nov in 2016 where she ‘met’ Papadopoulos. George’s specialty was as an oil & gas guy in the East Mediterranean. Papadopoulos was involved in oil & gas in an ‘advisory’ role with the following 3 countries, Greece, Cyprus & Israel. One of the projects was the Leviathan offshore gas field in Israel. He opened the way for an American company, Noble Energy to be a major player in the project. In 2016 during Trump’s campaign he held a closed door meeting in Colorado with a small group of executives from the oil and gas industry. One of the executives was Chip Rimer of Noble Energy, the same major investor of Israel’s Leviathan Gas field.

George Papadopoulos’s wife says Special Counsel Robert Mueller threatened to bring charges against husband, who reportedly set up meeting with help of Israeli diplomat. Times of Israel7 June 2018. “Simona Mangiante told the Daily Caller news site that her husband, George Papadopoulos, “pled guilty because [Robert Mueller’s prosecutors] threatened to charge him with being an Israeli agent.”

The claim follows mounting reports that a boozy May 2016 meeting in London between Papadopoulos and then-Australian high commissioner to the United Kingdom Alexander Downer was arranged after an Israeli embassy official introduced Papadopoulos to another Australian diplomat in London.
Much of Papadopoulos’s work prior to the campaign seemed to center on the role of Greece and Cyprus in the development of Israeli natural gas.
He called himself a senior consultant at the Hudson Institute think tank in Washington, DC, and wrote op-eds in the Israeli media in 2014 and 2015 encouraging Israel to favor Greece and Cyprus over Turkey in its natural gas development policy.

During the 2016 US presidential campaign, he met with an Israeli settler leader and promised him that, if elected, Donald Trump would take a positive view of Israel’s West Bank settlements, the Haaretz newspaper reported last year.
In October 2017, he conferred with Israeli settlement leader Yossi Dagan during Trump inauguration festivities in Washington, according to a video uploaded to Twitter by a St. Louis-based journalist, Russel Neiss.
“We are looking forward to ushering in a new relationship between the United States and all of Israel, including the historic Judea and Samaria,” Papadopoulos can be heard saying, using the biblical term for the West Bank. “Toda raba,” he signed off in decently accented Hebrew before hugging Dagan. Times of Israel
