Since then, more than 113,000 people have been fired, suspended, or detained. July 30, 2016 Rafiekian sent Alptekin an email with the subject line “Truth,” copying Flynn, saying that he and Flynn had discussed a ninety-day “Truth Campaign” and listing nine bullet points, which he referred to as “Has Zero,” that he claimed were essential to the project” Mueller’s indictment pg 4

August 2, 2016, Rafiekian emailed Alptekin, saying, “Waiting to hear from you. You, Flynn and I are the only cleared entities on this at this time.” Mueller’s indictment pg 4

August 4, 2016, Flynn sent an email with the subject “Truth” to Rafiekian and Alptekin in response to an email from Alptekin saying, “I’ll get with [Rafiekian} today on your question regarding [the then US Secretary of State]’s staff.” Mueller’s indictment pg 4   Rafiekian sent an email with the subject “Truth” to Alptekin and Flynn stressing the need to begin work on the Truth Campaign. August 8, 2016, Alptekin sent an email with the subject “Truth” to Rafiekian and Flynn, saying “I had a long meeting with [Turkish government minister (“TM #2)] upon the referral of [TM #1]. I explained what we can offer. He agreed to discuss in general lines at the council of ministers today and subsequently with [a senior Turkish leader (“STL #2)] in more detail.”

August 10, 2016: Alptekin sent an email with the subject “Truth” to Rafiekian and Flynn, saying, “I met with TM #1 and explained our proposed approach. He is receptive and indicated he would like to meet with us during his upcoming visit to DC…I will inform you and we can strategize how best to approach the meeting.” Alptekin again inquired about the then US Secretary of State, asking, “Do we know anyone on his team?”   Alptekin sent an email with the subject “Truth” to Rafiekian and Flynn, saying “I just finished in Ankara after several meetings today with TM #2 and TM #1. August 11, 2016: Renamed “Project Confidence” Rafiekian emailed Alptekin saying that Rafiekian and Flynn had discussed the “campaign design” and “resource allocation.” Rafiekian reassured Alptekin, “I did not touch the advisory support we discussed at 20%. Concurrently, for the first time, the source of funding was changed from the Government of Turkey to a company in the Netherlands that was wholly owned and controlled by Alptekin. This was the first mention of a company owned by Alptekin in connection with the project and the first time that Rafiekian made others at Flynn Intel Group aware of the project.” Mueller’s indictment pg 6

August 24, 2016, Rafiekian emailed Alptekin, copying Flynn, thanking Alptekin for his decision to engage Flynn Intel Group on “Operation Confidence,” and noting that Alptekin would receive 20% of the money Flynn Intel Group received for the project. Mueller’s indictment pg 7

August 25, 2016, Alptekin told Rafiekian via Skype, “We are confirmed to go.” Alptekin also told Rafiekian, “I think im [sic] meeting [TM #1]’s boss…not direct boss but u know who.” Mueller’s indictment pg 7

September 1, 2016, Alptekin told Rafiekina via Skype, “We are also scheduling [sic] a meet with Flynn and [TM #1] and perhaps even [STL #1] in the third week of NY.” Mueller’s indictment pg 7

September 3, 2016, Rafiekian sent Alptekin an email enclosing a contract between Inovo BV and Flynn Intel Group. In the email, Rafiekian said, “We have been at work on this engagement since July 31st:-that is, when it was still called the “Truth” campaign-“However, we decided to set the start date as August 15, 2016”-after Rafiekian and ALptekin had changed the name to “Operation Confidence” and substituted Alptekin’s company, Inovo BV, for the Government of Turkey as the source of the funding for the project.

September 5, 2016, Rafiekian sent Flynn a draft “Playbook” for the project. The playbook referred to Gulen as “X” and referred to Turkey as “Country X.” It also noted that a public registration fo the project would claim that a Dutch entity was the client. The playbook explained that the project would compare Gulen to Khomeini.” Mueller’s indictment pg 7

September 6, 2016 Refiekian emailed Flynn, saying, “Client is seeking a high level meeting in NYC on September 19th or 20th.”

September 9, 2016 Rafiekian emailed Flynn, saying, “the meeting is with high level audience (Cabinet+ level) related to ‘Confidence'”  Alptekin wired $200,000 to Flynn Intel Group.

September 12, 2016, Rafiekian emailed an employee of Flynn Intel Group, Sayinginthat FIG needed to wire $40,000 back to Alptekin. Rafiekian claimed that Alptekin was FIG’s “outside advisor on the Confidence Project.” Mueller’s indictment pg 7

September 19, 2016 “In March 2017, former CIA Director James Woolsey told the Wall Street Journal that he had been at a September 19, 2016 meeting with then Trump campaign advisor Mike Flynn with Turkey’s foreign minister, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, and energy minister, Berat Albayrak, where the possibility of Gulen’s abduction and forced rendition to Turkey was discussed.^[99][100] Although no concrete kidnapping plan was discussed, Woolsey left the meeting, concerned that a general discussion about “a covert step in the dead of night to whisk this guy away” might be construed as illegal under American law.^[101] A spokesman for Flynn denied Woolsey’s account, telling Business Insider that no nonjudicial removal had been discussed at the meeting.^[102]

“Flynn participates in a meeting with senior Turkish officials in which the group reportedly discusses the option of kidnapping the cleric Gulen and removing him from the United States, according to a Wall Street Journal story (published in March 2017). Alptekin invited Flynn to the meeting, according to Flynn’s firm, and Alptekin is present at the meeting. [James] Woolsey, who was affiliated with Flynn’s firm at the time, was present for part of the meeting’s discussion,the contents of which he said greatly disturbed him. Woolsey thought the proposal for Gulen would “pretty clearly be a violation of law” and he reported it to “several people,” including U.S. government officials at the time, specifically including an intermediary to Vice President Joseph Biden. Note: Woolsey’s spokesman, Jonathan Franks, told Just Security that Woolsey did not inform members of the Trump campaign about the September meeting. An important question is whether, either through the “several people” Woolsey informed or through others, Trump or his inner circle learned of the September meeting. October 11, 2016, Rafiekian sent an email to an employee of FIG asking him to send a wife transfer to Inovo BV “as soon as Mr. Alptekin sends us an invoice for consulting services that he is providing to FIG on the Confidence Project.” Mueller’s indictment pg 10  Alptekin wired $185,000 from a Turkish bank account in Alptekin’s name to FIG’s US Bank account.

October 13, 2016 Flynn employee prepared talking points for Flynn to use in discussing the project with Alptekin on a weekly conference call scheduled for the following day. One talking point said, “We will attempt to have an Op Ed written that links funding, Islamists and the subject et all as Mulllahs/Imams.” Mueller indictment pg 11

October 14, 2016 Alptekin asend Rafiekian an invoice to FIG from Inovo BV for $40,000, which Rafiekian approved the following day.Mueller’s indictment pg 10

November 2, 2016 Alptekin complained to  Rafiekian that Flynn Intel Group had not publicized enough negative information about Gulen. Alptekin asked for a “smoking gun,” and said that he wanted recorded conversations with unhappy teachers, media coverage of Gulen, private investigative work targeting Gulen’s supporters, and Congressional hearings about Gulen and his [Harmony] charter schools. Rafiekian sent an email to Alptekin enclosing.a drafts of an op-ed piece that Rafiekian had written urging Gulen’s extradition. In the email, Rafiekian said, “A promise made is a promise kept.”  It contained the same “apple tree” comparison of Khomeini and the Turkish citizen that Raiekian had used in his email to Alptekin when the project was still called the “Truth campaign”; and in the “Playbook” when Rafiekian referred to Bulen as “X”; and in the “Background and Talking Points” that Rafiekian prepared for Alptekin and others just before the “High level” meeting in New York with Turkish cabinet members.Mueller indictment pg 12

November 3, 2016, Rafiekian wrote to Flynn, “I a seed [the editor] to review and edit my 1000 word draft to make sure it is tight before I send it out to you. The plan is to go out with the piece on Monday.” Mueller indictment pg 12

November 4, 2016, Rafiekian emailed Alptekin about the op-ed, saying, “I just left Flynn. The arrow has left the bow!…This is a very high profile exposure one day before the election.” Attached to the email was a draft of the op-ed, which argued that the United States should not provide “safe haven” to Gulen. Mueller indictment pg 12

November 8, 2016, an op-ed titled Our Ally Turkey Is in Crisis and Needs Our Support was published in the newspaper The Hill  and on its website [credited author Michael Flynn]. The op-ed blamed Gulen for the July 15, 2016, attempted coup and urged the US government to deny the Turkish citizen refuge in the US and contained the same “apple tree” comparison of Khomeini and Gulen that Rafiekian had used before. Following Flynn’s op-ed, the FARA Unit sent a letter to Flynn requesting additional information to determine whether Flyy, Flynn Intel Group, and/or other individuals had an obligation to register as an agent of a foreign government under the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) Act. Mueller indictment pg 13

January – March 2017, outside attorneys for Flynn gathered information to determine whether Flynn Intel Group or any of its employees had an obligation to register under FARA based upon FIG’s work on “Operation Confidence”. •  September 19, 2016 meeting in New York City had nothing to do with Project Confidence, and instead was in furtherance of an abandoned “Project Truth” that was distinct from Project Confidence;
• No other contacts with Turkish government officials regarding the project;
• The op-ed was Flynn’s own idea, and he wrote I on his own behalf, and unrelated to the project;
• Alptekin did not want the op-ed to be published; and
• Payments from FIG to Inovo BV were refunds for lobbying and public relation work that FIG did not perform.
• ALptekin had not been consulted on the op-ed, and that he would have opposed it if he had been consulted;

Erdogan sought the extradition of Gulen to Turkey and directed Alptekin’s Inovo BV (rather than Turkey directly) to become the client of Flynn Intel Group. Lobbying Registration effective September 15, 2016, Flynn Intel Group obtained Inovo BV as a client and registered Robert Kelley as lobbyist, 2006 Chief Counsel to the National Security Subcommittee of the US House of Representatives Committee on Government Reform.

In exchange for delegitimizing Gulen in the US and extradition to Turkey, Erdogan approved payments from Turkey to Inovo BV, who paid Flynn Intel Group $530,000 (of a $600,000 offering); Turkey received regular updates and Inovo BV got a 20% kickback.

Cohen-Watnick’s departure is the latest in a string of exits from the National Security Council under H.R. McMaster, who has reportedly sought to purge Flynn appointees.

Another Flynn hire, retired Army intelligence officer Derek Harvey, was ousted from the NSC last week. He had been working as a senior Middle East adviser.

The documents did no such thing, other members of the panel concluded after studying them. “A pair of White House officials helped provide Representative Devin Nunes of California, a Republican and the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, with the intelligence reports that showed that President Trump and his associates were incidentally swept up in foreign surveillance by American spy agencies.

The revelation on Thursday that White House officials disclosed the reports, which Mr. Nunes then discussed with Mr. Trump, is likely to fuel criticism that the intelligence chairman has been too eager to do the biddingof the Trump administration while his committee is supposed to be conducting an independent investigation of Russia’s meddling in the presidential election.

The officials who detailed the newly disclosed White House role said that this month, shortly after Mr. Trump claimed on Twitter that he was wiretapped during the campaign on the orders of President Barack Obama, Mr. Cohen-Watnick began reviewing highly classified reports detailing the intercepted communications of foreign officials.

There were conflicting accounts of what prompted Mr. Cohen-Watnick to dig into the intelligence. One official with direct knowledge of the events said Mr. Cohen-Watnick began combing through intelligence reports this month in an effort to find evidence that would justify Mr. Trump’s Twitter posts about wiretapping.

But another person who was briefed on the events said Mr. Cohen-Watnick came upon the information as he was reviewing how widely intelligence reports on intercepts were shared within the American spy agencies. He then alerted the N.S.C. general counsel, but the official said Mr. Cohen-Watnick was not the person who showed the reports to Mr. Nunes.

That person and a third official said it was then Mr. Ellis who allowed Mr. Nunes to view the material.”NY Times

“Ezra Cohen-Watnick’s unlikely journey from Chevy Chase’s liberal cocoon to backroom shenanigans in the Trump White House was less a straight shot than a dotted line. It may well have begun with Frank Gaffney, a former Ronald Reagan administration official who has emerged as a leading conspiracy theorist and believes that Muslim militants have infiltrated the U.S. government and even the Republican Party. At Bethesda–Chevy Chase High, Cohen-Watnick was close to Gaffney’s daughter. As the years went by, he gravitated to Gaffney associates, who eventually took him into the White House…In 2007, he helped organize a campus “Terrorism Awareness Week” (originally called “Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week”) in concert with David Horowitz, a close Gaffney ally whose crusade against “liberal elites” on campus has been supported by top Trump aides Kellyanne Conway and Steve Bannon. At some point, a close family friend recalls, asking for anonymity in exchange for talking about personal matters, Gaffney offered the budding young hawk internships at his D.C. think tank, the Center for Security Policy. (Gaffney tells Newsweek in a brief telephone interview that he barely recalls Cohen-Watnick from as a high schooler and has had no contact with him since.) …In 2012, he was accepted into a training program with the Defense Clandestine Service, the undercover overseas spying arm of the DIA. It was there that he met a mutual friend of Gaffney, General Michael Flynn…

Cohen-Watnick’s DIA career did not go well, except in one regard: his bond with Flynn.

In 2013, the DIA assigned Cohen-Watnick to “the Farm,” the CIA training facility outside Williamsburg, Virginia, to learn the rudiments of recruiting and managing foreign spies, according to two intelligence sources. During his time there, his reputation among his classmates “was poor,” says a former CIA employee. “He was not a team player and would also ‘leak’ denigrating information about his fellow trainees…(Didn’t want to go to the Middle East, but)…Two sources tell Newsweek he was eventually assigned to Afghanistan, with the rank of GS-12, equivalent to a captain in the army…Flynn was already creating turmoil at the DIA with his impulsive management style and fervid embrace of conspiracy theories, such as his conviction that Iran was behind the attacks on the U.S. Embassy in Benghazi, Libya. “Flynn facts,” his aides snickered, according to a profile in The New Yorker. Years earlier, he had co-authored a widely publicized paper excoriating the conduct of U.S. intelligence operations in Afghanistan, and he was particularly critical of the CIA for its support of Afghan President Hamid Karzai’s notoriously corrupt brother Ahmed Wali Karzai…

In 2014, Obama fired Flynn, and since then administration officials have dumped on him in the press. But the surprise election of Trump in November 2016 gave Flynn a chance for redemption—and revenge. With his rising prominence in the Trump campaign, Flynn’s adversaries recycled stories about his DIA ouster, but now there were also questions about Kremlin-financed trips to Moscow and ties to Turkish lobbyists. And Flynn was swimming in ever deeper conspiracy waters, now with activists who alleged that the Orlando Pulse nightclub shooter did not act alone, and that Hillary Clinton’s campaign manager John Podesta was involved in a pedophile ring run beneath a Washington, D.C., family restaurant. Cohen-Watnick joined him in the so-called “Pizzagate” fray, tweeting about “Podesta’s obsession with the occult.” In another tweet, he referenced “the disgusting and potentially criminal behavior of the Clinton crime syndicate.”

In January, Cohen-Watnick swept into office with Flynn and other associates from Gaffney’s circle, including Bannon, Conway and Sebastian Gorka, another anti-Muslim hard-liner with ties to a Hungarian Nazi party. Meanwhile, Cohen-Watnick was getting married to a woman who, like Flynn and several other Trump aides, had ties to Russia. Rebecca Miller, four years younger than Cohen-Watnick, had worked on the Russian account in the D.C. office of Ketchum, the global powerhouse lobbying and public relations firm, according to her mother, Victoria Fraser, head of Washington University’s Department of Medicine in St. Louis. During a 2014 event at the State Historical Society of Missouri, Fraser said her daughter’s “big challenges right now are, Ketchum is responsible for providing PR and marketing to try to make Russia look better, which is particularly difficult when they’re invading other countries and when Putin is somewhat out of control.” Ketchum took a public relations blow when ProPublica reported that it had “placed pro-Russia op-eds in American publications by businesspeople and others without disclosing the role of the Russian government.” The following year, it drew flak for placing an op-ed purporting to be written by Russian President Vladimir Putin in The New York Times arguing that Syrian rebels, not President Bashar al-Assad, were responsible for chemical attacks on civilians. According to a Ketchum spokesperson, Miller’s work on the Russia account ended in September 2012. The company severed its ties with the Russian Federation in March 2015.

Cohen-Watnick and his wife have been reluctant to acknowledge anything about their professional lives or their history together. On November 11, 2016, the Ohr Kodesh Congregation, a conservative synagogue in Chevy Chase, held a kiddush, or small social ceremony, in honor of their “upcoming marriage.”…

Cohen-Watnick’s principal credentials seem to be ideological. “He’s a 30-year-old version of Michael Flynn, from an affection for the Russians to hatred of Iran,” a senior former intelligence official who has worked with him asserted. And right from the start, he wore his enmity for the CIA like a badge of honor, the official says.

“There’s no question that during the transition that he was airing his antipathy to the CIA,” the senior former intelligence official who worked with Cohen-Watnick says. “I got the impression he had an ax to grind, and this was an opportunity to demonstrate who was in charge.” He also “was very clear that he was entitled…, that he had access…and a voice in policy meetings.

“He made it very clear,” the former official adds, “that he was speaking on behalf of Flynn.” Adding to his value, says a former high-ranking Defense Department intelligence official: “His parents knew Jared Kushner,” the Trump son-in-law and confidante who was emerging as a major force in the administration. “Flynn saw that as extremely valuable.”

Flynn would soon be gone from the White House, sunk by his undisclosed conversations with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak. But his departure failed to end Cohen-Watnick’s tenure. When Flynn’s successor as national security adviser, H.R. McMaster, tried to get rid of him, Cohen-Watnick went straight to Bannon and Kushner, who in turn persuaded Trump to tell McMaster to back off, according to reports.

Since Flynn’s departure, Cohen-Watnick has moved to tame the CIA by taking away its primacy in covert action operations, handing some to the Pentagon, and pulling the decisions on who does what and when inside the NSC. “He was looking to get the military into the space where CIA operated,” says a former intelligence official who worked with Cohen-Watnick during the transition. And taking the fight to Iran—“tightening the pressure points,” as this person puts it—is high on his agenda.

All of which portends trouble, former national security officials say, pointing to calamities that befell previous administrations that politicized the intelligence process. The George W. Bush White House put pressure on the CIA to report that there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. And it found ideological bedmates in the Pentagon to produce WMD reports to help gin up the case—false, as it turned out—to justify the 2003 invasion of Iraq. Decades earlier, an attempt by officials in the Reagan White House to get around congressionally prohibited aid to anti-communist Contra guerrillas fighting to overthrow the leftist Nicaraguan government ended in disaster.” Newsweek  April 13, 2017    Additionally, there are no public records of their marriage.

Failure to disclose meetings with Russians on security clearance forms and accepting payments from Russian television without receiving clearance and then lying about it to Mike Pence were the original reasons for firing Flynn.  It has since been revealed that the Obama administration alerted the Transition Team about undisclosed meetings and therefore Pence, leading the Transition, should have been aware of the security alert. Also, Flynn accepted a $600,000 payment from Ekim Alptekin to lobby on behalf of Turkey right before being nominated as National Security Adviser, and failed to mention it on his forms and in confirmation hearings. Flynn and his son Michael G. Flynn work together as consultants and both spread many conspiracy theories and anti-Clinton stories such as “Pizzagate“, which was fed by Wikileaks. Peter Smith,  a Republican anti-Clinton activist, told computer specialists was working with Flynn to obtain the 33,000 missing Clinton emails, which reportedly were in the hands of 5 hacking groups including 2 Russian groups.

Flynn, then on President-Elect Donald Trump‘s transition team and Trump’s designate for National Security Advisor, posted multiple tweets on Twitter containing conspiratorial material regarding Hillary Clinton alleging that Clinton’s campaign manager, John Podesta, drank the blood and bodily fluids of other humans in Satanic rituals, which Politico says “soon morphed into the ‘#pizzagate’ conspiracy theory involving Comet Ping Pong”.^[84] On November 2, 2016, Flynn tweeted a link to a story with unfounded accusations and wrote, “U decide – NYPD Blows Whistle on New Hillary Emails: Money Laundering, Sex Crimes w Children, etc…MUST READ!” The tweet was shared by over 9,000 people, but was deleted from Flynn’s account some time between December 12–13, 2016.^[80]”  Wikipedia

After the shooting incident at Comet Ping Pong, Michael Flynn Jr., Michael T. Flynn’s son and also a member of Trump’s transition team, tweeted:

Until #Pizzagate proven to be false, it’ll remain a story. The left seems to forget #PodestaEmails and the many ‘coincidences’ tied to it.^[85][86][87]

On December 6, 2016, Flynn Jr. was forced out of Trump’s transition team.^[88] Spokesman Jason Miller did not identify the reason for Flynn Jr.’s dismissal; however, The New York Times reported that other officials had confirmed it was related to the tweet.^[83]

Washington Post February 14, 2017

April 2014: Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn is relieved of duty as head of the Defense Intelligence Agency. Flynn will leave the position that summer and later allege that the firing stemmed from his criticism of then-President Barack Obama’s efforts to fight radical Islamic terrorism.

Dec. 10, 2015: Flynn participates in a celebration of the 10th anniversary of Russia Today, the Russian-state-backed television network. He is part of a panel discussion in Moscow, for which he receives compensation.

Feb. 26, 2016: Reuters reports that Flynn is advising Donald Trump’s presidential campaign. He would later tell The Washington Post that he was advising at least two campaigns.

Jul. 18: Flynn gives a speech endorsing Trump at the Republican National Convention. The New York Times editorial board later calls it “grotesque” for Flynn’s embrace of the convention crowd’s “lock her up” chant.

Jul. 22: On the Friday before the Democratic National Convention begins, WikiLeaks releases emails that are thought to have been stolen from the Democratic National Committee by Russian state actors.

Aug. 9: Flynn signs a $600,000, 90-day contract with a company called Inovo BV aimed at discrediting a key opponent of the regime of Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Oct. 7: WikiLeaks begins publishing emails that the U.S. government thinks were stolen by Russia from the account of Hillary Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta.

Prior to Nov. 8: Flynn contacts Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak, according to Post reporting. It’s not clear how often the two communicated or what was discussed.

Nov. 8: An opinion piece written by Flynn runs in The Hill, focused on bolstering the Turkish government and criticizing Erdogan’s opponent.

Trump is elected president.

Nov. 17: President-elect Trump names Flynn his intended national security adviser. The position does not require Senate approval.

Nov. 30: The Justice Department informs Flynn that his lobbying work was being examined.

Where Flynn got into trouble

Dec. 6: Vice President-elect Mike Pence is asked if Flynn’s son, Michael G. Flynn, has a role with the presidential transition. (The younger Flynn has attracted negative attention for spreading conspiracy theories.) Pence denies that he does.

Later in the day, after it emerges that the transition team requested security clearance for Flynn’s son, Pence changes his story, saying that the son was helping his father with scheduling. In February, it’s reported that Flynn requested that clearance without telling the transition team.

Dec. 25: Flynn texts Kislyak, the Russian ambassador, to wish him a merry Christmas and to express condolences for a plane crash, according to Pence in a January interview.

Dec. 28: At one point, White House press secretary Sean Spicer indicates that Flynn and Kislyak spoke Dec. 28, but later corrects the date.

Dec. 29: Flynn places five phone calls to Kislyak. These calls were apparently on unsecured lines, and monitored by U.S. intelligence agencies. On the same day, Obama announces measures meant to punish Russia for its interference in the 2016 election.

Dec. 30: Trump tweets praise for Vladimir Putin’s response to Obama.

Jan. 4: Flynn informs Don McGahn, who will serve as Trump’s White House counsel, that the Justice Department is scrutinizing his lobbying, the New York Times reports.

Jan. 10: In a meeting with Obama’s national security adviser, Susan Rice, Flynn is asked to sign off on a plan to partner with Kurdish forces to retake the Islamic State’s de facto capital of Raqqa. (The sign-off is requested because the operation would extend past Obama’s tenure.) Flynn asks them to hold off, as reported by McClatchy. The Turkish government opposes the U.S. partnering with the Kurds.

Jan. 11: During his first news conference since the convention, Trump acknowledges that Russia was most likely behind the hacking at the DNC, although he says that “we also get hacked by other countries and other people.”

How it fell apart

Jan. 12: The Washington Post’s David Ignatius reveals the conversations between Flynn and Kislyak. “What did Flynn say,” he wonders, “and did it undercut the U.S. sanctions?”

The Logan Act bars unauthorized citizens from contacting foreign governments “with an intent to influence its measures or conduct in relation to any disputes or controversies with the United States.” If Flynn discussed sanctions with Kislyak before being sworn in as national security adviser, that could be a violation of the act.

Jan. 13: Spicer tells reporters that there was one call between Kislyak and Flynn, during which the pair “exchanged logistical information” on setting up a call between Trump and President Vladimir Putin of Russia.

Jan. 15: Pence appears on CBS’s “Face the Nation” and is asked about the Flynn conversations, which he characterizes as “a conversation.” “It was strictly coincidental that they had a conversation,” Pence says. “They did not discuss anything having to do with the United States’ decision to expel diplomats or impose censure against Russia.”

He later adds: “General Flynn has been in touch with diplomatic leaders, security leaders in some 30 countries. That’s exactly what the incoming national security adviser should do. But what I can confirm, having spoken to him about it, is that those conversations that happened to occur around the time that the United States took action to expel diplomats had nothing whatsoever to do with those sanctions.”

Jan. 20: Trump takes the oath of office as president.

Jan. 22: Flynn is sworn in as National Security Adviser.

Jan. 24: The FBI interviews Flynn about his conversations with Kislyak. Flynn apparently denied having discussed sanctions in his calls in December, contradicting transcripts.

Jan. 26: Acting Attorney General Sally Yates informs McGahn that Flynn was lying about the nature of his calls with Kislyak and that this made him vulnerable to blackmail by Russia. The meeting takes place in McGahn’s office at the White House, a secure location.

Jan. 27: Yates and McGahn meet again at the White House.

Spicer later says that McGahn subsequently reviewed the legality of Flynn’s actions, determining that no law was broken.

Jan. 31: Yates is fired by Trump after announcing that she would not defend his immigration executive order.

Feb. 1: Flynn makes an unusual appearance at the daily news briefing, declaring that the administration was putting Iran “on notice” for hostile actions.

Feb. 8: Flynn tells a reporter from The Post that he didn’t discuss sanctions in his conversations with Kislyak. Asked repeatedly, he twice says “no” to the question.

Feb. 9: Flynn’s spokesman walks that back. Flynn “indicated that while he had no recollection of discussing sanctions, he couldn’t be certain that the topic never came up,” he tells The Post.

According to NBC News, this was also the day that Pence learned about the Jan. 26 message from Yates. Our Ashley Parker has confirmed that he learned about it after reading The Post’s coverage.

Feb. 10: Trump tells reporters that he’s unfamiliar with the Post’s report that Flynn now admits he may have discussed sanctions in the December calls.

Feb. 13: Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway tells MSNBC that Trump maintains full confidence in Flynn.

Later that evening, The Post reports on the Yates warning to the White House.

Flynn subsequently resigns. In his resignation letter, he writes:

In the course of my duties as the incoming National Security Advisor, I held numerous phone calls with foreign counterparts, ministers, and ambassadors. These calls were to facilitate a smooth transition and begin to build the necessary relationships between the President, his advisors and foreign leaders. Such calls are standard practice in any transition of this magnitude.

Unfortunately, because of the fast pace of events, I inadvertently briefed the Vice President Elect and others with incomplete information regarding my phone calls with the Russian Ambassador. I have sincerely apologized to the President and the Vice President, and they have accepted my apology.

Mar. 31: Flynn’s lawyer informs congressional investigators that Flynn is willing to testify before their committees in exchange for immunity.

The FSB (Former KGB) and RISS, the Russian Institute for Strategic Studies think tank devised a plan to weaken our democracy and manipulate a right-wing government into power. Steve Bannon‘s “The Movement”, political consulting, is attempting to spread right-wing authoritarianism globally. He was Director of Cambridge Analytica, closed May 1, 2018, whose parent company, SCL (Social Limited), is involved with the Trump 2020 campaign and others internationally. The RNC will absorb the Trump 2020 Campaign. Brexit was its trial before the Trump Campaign, Ukraine before that. Robert Mercer invested in Cambridge Analytica, the Trump and Cruz campaigns, and more. Russia has done this with the help of Paul Manafort in Ukraine and Turkey; Brexit and separatist movements, and attempted to throw the French election towards LePen with Alt-Right trolls and a hacked and altered email dump. Montenegro and unknown numbers of elections have been influenced in the same manner.

1. Conspiracy: The secret meetings and identifying the players who arranged, participated, and had knowledge of the Russian plan to influence the US election.
2. The Money Trail: Money laundering of Russian oligarchs through the Trump Organization and associates including Paul Manafort, Felix Sater of Bayrock. Russian campaign financing of key Republicans made possible by Citizens United, and also via the NRA (National Rifle Association). The most powerful Russian mobster is Semion Mogilevich. His lieutenant was Felix Sater’s father, who established the Russian mob in Brighton Beach. Felix Sater was busted for a pump and dump scheme during an historic unification of the Five Families of NYC and the Russian mob.  Trump’s mentor was NY mafia consigliere Roy Cohn, and Trump Tower was built using mob concrete with the mob labor union looking the other way while Trump hired Polish immigrants to do the demolition prep. Many Italian Mafia and Russian criminals have been Trump property owners and tenants. Trump has a long history of business ties to people from former Soviet states. Sater went to Russia and became an FBI informant. When he returned to the US, Felix Sater formed Bayrock with the FL Group. One of his primary funding partners has been Bayrock, which built Trump Soho and many other Trump-branded properties, Bayrock is under investigation in the Netherlands for money laundering and tax evasion. Deutsche Bank: Several members of the Trump and Kushner families hold accounts at DB. Mueller has requested information. The Bank of Cyprus is connected to many questionable transactions, and Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross led it through the financial crisis. FINCEN (Financial Crimes Enforcement Network) investigation for money laundering. In March, 2015, Trump Taj Mahal settled for a civil money penalty of $10,000,000 for having “willfully violated the program, reporting, and recordkeeping requirements of the Bank Secrecy Act and its implementing regulations”.

The Data Trail: The DNC Hack, RNC Hack, Hacking of Voter roll information, United in Purpose and Pioneer Solutions; Facebook;Trump subdomains; Trump, Kushner and Ivanka‘s private email servers; GOP MegaDonors Robert and Rebekah Mercer-owned and Bannon-directed Cambridge Analytica/SCL, and Parscale’s “Project Alamo”, which optimized the advertising and memes under Jared Kushner.  Officially no one has said that Russia changed actual votes (as pro-Trump media has falsely stated). The existence of malware and other direct Russian activity in our voting system and machines is also being investigated. Although Trump was calling elections “rigged” for years, he closed the agency responsible for protection elections and the voting process. Instead, Trump nominated Kris Kobach (CrossCheck) to lead an organization requesting an illegal amount of voter data from States, including voting history. Paul Manafort delivered Polling Data to Russia. Mueller said he didn’t believe the interpretation of data involving Betsy DeVos‘s Spectrum Health and Russian Alfa Bank through a Trump server were true, and the public has yet to fully understand the data.
4. Propaganda, Disinformation and Active Measures-Hybrid Warfare, The Russians have broken it down and made it a science.  The goal is to cause division, get favorable candidates elected, and dominate from within. Social and Right Wing Media: Hacking and release of emails and information through Wikileaks and DC Leaks dumps of DNC / Clinton hacked emails. Having returned from Russia himself, now-guilty cooperating witness Michael Flynn spread Pizzagate conspiracies from Podesta emails to weaken Clinton. Alt-Right Meme Warriors on Reddit and Gab funded by American tech billionaire Peter Thiel (who has since left “liberal silicon valley”) with now-fired from Breitbart and disgraced hate speech provacateur Milo Yiannopoulos as the conduit; Russian Bots and Trolls employed by the Internet Research Agency posing as American Trump supporters and protestors; and the US social (Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, etc) & traditional media and Trump Campaign which furthered Russian-generated propaganda.  The Hamilton 68 dashboard tracks Russian bots real-time. Russians have invested in these companies.
5. In a move of fraudulent informational self-dealing, these Fake News stories sometimes use Breitbart backer’s Robert and Rebekah Mercer & Peter “Clinton Cash” Schweizer’s unaccounted for “Governmental Accountability Institute“ as source “factual” material to back its fake news claims.
6. The Cover Up, Diversion, Obstruction of Justice and Impeachment.
7. Emoluments violations: New and Ongoing enrichment of the Administration since the Inauguration.
8. Other Trump lawsuits, including Michael Cohen‘s payoff to a Playmate and Porn Star for silence before the election (and Trump’s friend David Pecker from American Media who bought story rights for the purposes of silencing it).
9. Trump suggested a joint US-Russia cyber security task force at the G20 Summit which would entail sharing our system with them so they could hack us even more. At the end of January 2018, the heads of the FSB and RISS had a meeting with CIA Dir. Pompeo and DNI Dan Coats, despite one of them being on the sanctioned list and prohibited from entering the US.

“In one case, investigators found there had been a manipulation of voter data in a county database but the alterations were discovered and rectified, two sources familiar with the matter tell TIME. Investigators have not identified whether the hackers in that case were Russian agents.

The fact that private data was stolen from states is separately providing investigators a previously unreported line of inquiry in the probes into Russian attempts to influence the election. In Illinois, more than 90% of the nearly 90,000 records stolen by Russian state actors contained drivers license numbers, and a quarter contained the last four digits of voters’ Social Security numbers, according to Ken Menzel, the General Counsel of the State Board of Elections.

Congressional investigators are probing whether any of this stolen private information made its way to the Trump campaign, two sources familiar with the investigations tell TIME. “If any campaign, Trump or otherwise, used inappropriate data the questions are, How did they get it? From whom? The US Treasury Department Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) which tracks money laundering worldwide and is sharing information with the investigation. The FinCEN is under Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin.

US Justice Preet Bharara was fired in January, after being personally assured by Trump in November after the election that he would not. Bharara was investigating Trump’s money laundering connections from Russians through his real estate. His jurisdiction was the headquarters of Trump and therefore the court for multiple lawsuits and ALSO presided over the Money Laundering Division in the Southern District of New York. Two days before going to trial, Jeff Sessions dropped the case.

The Inspector General at the Defense Department was the first to officially  investigated Michael Flynn, the announcement of which was followed by Jeff Sessions recusing himself from that investigation. The Inspector General at Jeff Sessions’ Justice Department started by investigating Clinton’s emails but has not stated if Sessions has recused himself from the Paul Manafort investigation.
